US supports democracy in Pakistan
US Ambassador in Pakistan Richard
Olson called on Governor Punjab Chaudhry
Sarwar at Governor House Lahore on Thursday
and discussed matters pertaining to mutual
interest and overall political situation of the
country.
In the one-and-half hour long meeting, the
Punjab governor told the ambassador that all the
political parties in the parliament showed their
unconditional support to the government which
was a good gesture for the democracy.
Richard Olson said that the United States of
America attached great importance to its relations
with Pakistan and a prosperous and developed
Pakistan was its dream.
He categorically stated that US did not support
any specific political party in Pakistan. “We
support democracy and want to see a strong
democratic system here”, he remarked.

Richard Olson met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif
here on Thursday. Matters of mutual interest and
bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting.
