LAUTECH Student Nabbed With 23 'Stolen' Phones, Laptop, Other Items

A student of LAUTECH has made the headlines for all the wrong reasons after he was found in possession of over 20 phones and other stolen items. A student of Crop Production and Soil Science at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho, Abeeb Adekunle Olayiwola, has been arrested for allegedly stealing students' mobile phones. Olayiwola was reportedly caught in possession of several mobile devices and other items which were not his. Student Pulse gathered that university security officers and some members of the institution's Students Union Government (SUG) found over twenty other phones in Olayiwola's hostel room. Olayiwola reportedly confessed to stealing and selling other student’s mobile phones. According to his confession, he had already sold three phones. Naij » reports that a total of 23 phones, six batteries, six SIM cards, five memory cards, two Hand-frees, one handbag and one HP Pavilion Laptop were found in his possession. The suspect has since been handed over to security operatives attached to the institution.
