Boko Haram: 17 Killed, 30 Abducted In Fresh Attacks
The terrorists kidnapped all the boys above
the age of 13 and all the girls aged over 11
from Maffa in Borno State.
Boko Haram insurgents have invaded the villages
of Maffa and Ndongo in Borno State killing 17
people and abducting 30 youngsters.
The terrorists kidnapped all the boys above the
age of 13 and all the girls aged over 11, AFP
reports.
News of the attacks and mass abduction were
confirmed by the village head of Maffa, Alhaji
Shettima Maina.
He said:
“Seventeen persons were killed by the assailants
after last Thursday's attack on Ndongo
community.” “We buried the remains of the
victims in Maffa on Friday.”
"The insurgents ... grabbed young people, boys
and girls, from our region,” "They took all boys
aged 13 and over... and all girls aged 11 and more.
According to our information, 30 young people
were abducted in the last two days."
The reports were also confirmed by another
village elder, Mallam Ashiekh Mustapha.
The recent wave of abductions supposedly carried
out by Boko Haram has caused hope to continue
to dim about the authenticity of the recent
ceasefire » announced by the Nigerian
government which is supposedly meant to
secure the release of the missing Chibok
girls » .
