EBOLA! Not This Time: Mali Confirms First Case Of Ebola

The Ebola Virus Disease has spread to another West African country as Mali has confirmed its first case of the disease. Fears of a further spread of the Ebola Virus Disease have been confirmed as a case of the disease is said to have been diagnosed in Mali. The Malian Health Minister, Ousmane Kone identified the patient as a two-year-old girl in the western region of Kayes who had recently returned from Guinea, where the outbreak began. Mali is the 6th West African country to record a case of the disease after Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Senegal and Nigeria were affected. The latter two have however been declared Ebola free. The current Ebola outbreak has been described as the deadliest ever and has claimed almost 5000 lives.
