They Lied: Soldiers Killed By Boko Haram Not Given Military Burial
While the Nigerian Military authorities say
every soldier killed by the Boko Haram sect, a
group, Igboist Movement shows otherwise as a
young solider who was killed in active service
is buried by his family without fanfare.
A few weeks ago, there was a report that Nigerian
soldiers » killed by the violent Boko Haram »
sect are buried in mass graves without their
families and loved ones being aware. But the
military authorities came out to deny that report,
saying that all soldiers killed are given full military
honours and that their families are always
involved.
But an Igbo group which calls itself Igboist
Movement » , has further punched holes into the
military claims when it took to its Facebook page
to show photos of a 23-year-old soldier, Obinna
Izuala, who was killed by the dreaded sect in a
gun battle in Borno State on September 25th,
2014, being buried in his home town.
The poor boy which lost his life in service for the
nation, was buried without any military honours
and fanfare, giving credence to the fact that the
fallen soldiers are abandoned for their families to
carry the brunt of burying them.
But a source who is a soldier told Pulse.ng that
those given military burials are the officers while
the rank and files are not regarded worthy of
getting the honour they deserve.
So who do we believe here? Anyway, pictures
don't lie.
