In Cross River State: Catholic Priest To Contest For Governor

Rev Fr. Eworo who was ordained a priest in 1977, told journalists at a media parley recently that he intends to contest under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. A Roman Catholic priest, Francis Agantem Eworo of the Ogoja Diocese in Cross Rivers state has declared his interest to run for governor of the state in the upcoming general elections in 2015. Rev Fr. Eworo who was ordained a priest in 1977, told journalists at a media parley recently that he intends to contest under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and if elected, would focus on youth development. Eworo has served in various parishes including Ogoja, Ikom, Uruan, Calabar, and Akwa Ibom State. He became actively involved in politics since 1999. Should religion be mixed with politics?
