Ebola Outbreak: 6th Sierra Leonean Doctor Tests Positive
Dr. Martin Salia, who works in Freetown, the
nation’s capital, is the sixth doctor to be
diagnosed with Ebola in the disease-ravaged
nation.
The Ebola scourge in Sierra Leone has affected
yet another of the country’s health workers as a
surgeon is said to have tested positive for the
disease.
Dr. Martin Salia, who works in Freetown, the
nation’s capital, is the sixth doctor to be
diagnosed with Ebola in the disease-ravaged
nation.
Sierra Leone has lost four doctors to the current
outbreak which officials say is on the increase in
the country.
Dr. Salia and Dr. Godfrey George, who was the
fifth doctor to be infected, are currently receiving
treatment for the disease.
Health workers are especially at risk of catching
Ebola due to consistent contact with patients and
their highly infectious bodily fluids.
