Boko Haram: Army Releases 125 More Suspects

This comes after the release on Thursday, November 6 of 42 suspected terrorists who were also cleared of all charges:- The Nigerian military has released 125 Boko Haram suspects in Borno State after they were found innocent of the charges against them. The suspects were freed by the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, the state capital and were said to be among 152 suspected members of Boko Haram who were arrested in September. The development was announced by the spokesperson for the Division, Col. Usman Sani. One of the freed detainees told PREMIUM TIMES: “We have spent over 45 days in military detention but we thank God that our lives were spared. We went through pains and suffering there, but we can’t blame them much since they still were magnanimous to release us at a time human life is no longer valued “. The Governor of the State, who received the previously released suspects, is yet to take delivery of the latest batch as he is not yet available.
