Sydney Siege update: Gunman, one other dead in café crisis

50-year-old Haron Monis entered the café at about 10am on Monday, December 15, armed with a weapon: The gunman who held staff and customers hostage at the Lindt café in Sydney, Australia has reportedly been killed. 50-year-old Haron Monis entered the café at about 10am on Monday, December 15, armed with a weapon. Monis, a self-acclaimed Sheik, held about 20 hostages for 16 hours until police officers invaded the building. Gunfire ensued and Monis was one of two people who lost their lives, Reuters reports. According to Sky News, another 4 people are believed to have been injured in the incident.
