Another prisionbreak In Nigeria: 270 inmates escape from Minna prison

The jailbreak reportedly occurred on Saturday, December 6, at about 4pm while the prisoners were taking their customary stroll: According to reports, about 270 inmates have escaped from the Maximum Prison along David Mark Road in Minna, Niger State after an attack by unidentified gunmen. The jailbreak reportedly occurred on Saturday, December 6, at about 4pm while the prisoners were taking their customary stroll. About 10 armed attackers reportedly invaded the prison shooting some prison wardens on duty. The gunmen reportedly snatched cars from people nearby and made away with arms and bullet proof vests meant for the wardens. The jailbreak was confirmed by the spokesperson for the prison authorities, Rabiu Shuaibu Muhammed. This latest incident comes less than a week after attackers detonated explosives and freed some inmates of the Ekiti federal prison.
