Devil In The Family: Wife murders husband over N10 Tom-Tom sweet
For refusing to give his wife a mere N10 to buy sweet for their daughter, a husband has lost his life in the hands of his wife:
Some news makes the skin shrivel in astonishment, news like a 22-year-old housewife, Aminat Aiyemobola, allegedly stabbing to death, her husband, Babatunde Aiyemobola, because he refused to give her the sum of N10 to buy sweet for their child.
According to New Telegraph, the mother of two, had asked her 40-year-old husband give her the money to buy the popular Tom-Tom sweet but his refusal led to a disagreement which led to her picking up a kitchen knife and fatally stabbing her husband to death.
She is now being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID), Homicides section, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
The police reports that the incident which occurred at 4, Magbon Alade Street, Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos, and was reported to the police by the elder brother of the deceased, happened after Aminat was said to have asked her husband for N10 so that she could buy Tom-Tom sweet for their daughter but his refusal turned out to be lethal.
The deceased husband allegedly refused giving her the money and instead chided her for always buying sweet for their kid, educating her that sweets are not healthy for kids. This apparently angered Aminat and she allegedly said some unprintable things to her husband and the couple started quarrelling over the issue.
The argument was said to have degenerated into name calling and before anyone knew what was happening, the angry woman stormed into the kitchen and came out with a knife with which stabbed her husband three times in the chest and he died on the spot. While undergoing interrogation, Aminat told homicide detectives that she did not know what came over her, which prompted her to pick the knife.
"I loved my husband. He was a very caring man to me and my children. Oga, I don’t know what came over me. We loved each other. We have been living happily as husband and wife. In fact, I don’t know whether I’m under a spell. God please forgive me."
The police said she would soon be arraigned in court.
