Even your predecessors who are renowned idol worshipers in Islamic history like ‘Abujahal’ could not succeed fighting Islam.” “Because you are made the Emir of Kano that is why you got angry and was calling on the Vigilante groups and hunters to attack us. Let me tell you that the hunters and the vigilante groups will fail and you will also fail.” “Yes you can say that our success is for a period of time, because you are a king of Bank and a loyal citizen of his country,” Shekau continued. Love Tips: 5 simple reasons good relationships go bad

Here are 5 simple reasons why a seemingly good relationship could turn sour within a short period of time: Sometimes you see a couple who have been together for a while and everything seems to be going great, then suddenly the relationship comes to an abrupt end. The first question that comes to mind after this is "what went wrong?" Well, you didn't see it coming, but here are 5 reasons why a good relationship could go bad. Unchecked Emotional Baggage: Now, hopefully your partner's baggage doesn't include a surprise child, but we have heard worse. The biggest type of baggage which will stop the best relationship in its tracks? Unresolved emotional issues. All of us carry around wounds we've received as children, or in past relationships, but the key is how willing you are to examine them, understand them, and work through them. Left unchecked, you'll likely encounter the same problems in every relationship you start. Self-exploration is a wonderful thing! You (or He) Stopped Trying: "Things started out great! He planned nights out, made me dinner, and now I can't get him off of the couch!" Some people put their best feet forward when trying to woo their partners, but once they are feeling comfortable, they stop putting any thought or energy into the relationship. This can be a fatal error. Both partners have to give in a relationship, and that means sharing responsibilities, thinking up date ideas, and providing dinner (even if it's take-out!). You Started Criticizing: A once-fantastic relationship can turn negative when one of the parties starts picking apart the other. There really isn't room for this in a flourishing relationship, where both people should be lifting one another up — not tearing them down. You Got Too Physical Too Fast: It takes time to form the healthy emotional circuits needed to sustain a lasting relationship. Trust and the willingness to commit can't be rushed. But surging sexual energy can shut out a potential partnership if switched on too early. Becoming physically intimate can open up a large amount of issues that put pressure on a fledgling relationship, so proceed at a pace that feels right for you. There's Too Much Distance: An emotionally distant partner can be frustrating, which is why it is important to keep the communication flowing. When the talking and sharing stops, an invisible wall goes up, which can lead to some very unhappy endings. When it comes to a long-distance relationship (LDR), it can certainly work, usually if there is an end goal in sight (knowing that eventually you will be living in the same city!). If you are entering into a LDR and you happen to be jealous or insecure, then you are in for a tough road ahead. It's best to really consider whether you can handle these types of challenges — or not.

Its Christmas come early for Dr Dre's legal team as the hip hop mogul splashes $10,000 on them as Christmas bonuses: It will be a very merry Christmas for Dr Dre's legal team as they've been gifted no less than $10,000 (that's about N1.8 million) by the hip hop mogul. The site reported: “Dr. Dre just paid the holiday bonuses for his entire legal firm, including attorneys and assistants not working on his project. The assistants not even associated with his project each received $10K.” It's no surprise that Dr Dre is so generous with his legal team. To this end he was listed by Forbes as the highest earning musician for 2014.

Bola Tinubu: Why I refused to be Buhari’s running mate, APC leader explains

Earlier reports had it that the APC leader was gunning for the position of running mate to Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari but Tinubu has said that he stepped aside because of his love for Nigeria: Former Lagos State Governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has stated that he was offered the chance to be the party’s vice-presidential candidate but he turned it down. Earlier reports had it that the APC leader was gunning for the position of running mate to Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari but Tinubu has said that he stepped aside because of his love for Nigeria. Tinubu revealed this in a press statement released yesterday, December 17. It reads: “I am a Nigerian who loves his country and am hopeful about what it can become. I have seen and conducted myself as a patriot long before I thought of myself as a politician. I shall always walk this line and no other.” “After all the political calculations are made and the dust of competition has settled, it must be this nation and its people who stand first and foremost. The question becomes whether we stand strong, able to shape ourselves into our best future or will we stand frail and trembling, burdened by the abject failure to surmount the multiple problems confronting us.” “Nothing is more important to me than to realize this dream not for myself but for the people of this land I so love…I helped to build this party, giving no thought to seeking an elected office because of it. My contribution to the party was never based on the expectation of a later political handout. Nigeria is in trouble and we are well past the moment for such narrow, selfish games,” Tinubu said. The APC leader said that Buhari offered him the vice-presidential ticket, but he refused it having weighed his “potential candidacy in all of its dimensions”. “I have concluded that the interests of the party, our campaign and of the nation are better served if I retain my position as the National leader of the APC, allowing me to be a bridge builder across all divides. Although, I declined the position, I want to thank General Buhari for extending the honor to me. Despite all the noise and opposition around my possible selection, he stood firm and steadfast. He showed the traits of a leader in holding to a decision he believed was right despite the errant plots against it.” “When my name was raised, the political hatchet men tried to chop it down with rumour and lies. Over the years, I have developed a thick skin. The personal attacks did not bother me. I am used to them. While I have a thick skin, I don’t have a thick mind. There has been one form of attack that has troubled me. That is the attack based on religion. The PDP and others have stoked fear of a Muslim- Muslim ticket,” he added. Tinubu also advised Nigerians to choose wisely and “remove religion from the electoral equation.”  “Nigeria has too many secular problems – insecurity, economic collapse, poverty, corruption and misgovernance – to allow inept people to use religion to keep us from solving these challenges for the benefit of all. Those who exploit religion should be wary. For there really is a God and he does not like it when you play with his people or use His name to do the opposite of what He intends,” he said. “I ask the people to remove religion from the electoral equation now that the tickets of both parties are mixed. I ask you to select the ticket best able to end the downward slide that Nigeria has endured since this government took over. I ask you to remember that too many Christians and Muslims are poor. Most of all, I ask you to remember that the true religion of the PDP is poverty, APC come to bring prosperity to the people. Please vote for that.” “The Nigeria I see is a nation that shall overcome. The Nigeria I see is a nation ready to sweep aside the broken ways of our recent past and the government and politicians who impose distress upon us. The Nigeria I see and seek is one where each person, every man, woman and child may live free of terrorism, free of the despair of poverty and free of the fear that the government meant to serve and protect them has turned its back to them in cold and utter indifference,” he added. Tinubu continued: “I see and seek a Nigeria where progressive democratic governance creates the political and economic space needed for each of us to contribute to rescuing and retooling this nation. And, in the process of this benign endeavour, may each and every one of us share in the sound promise and good prosperity that shall describe the architecture of our national revival.” According to him, not everyone that shouts the name of Nigeria believes in this vision. “There are many who would have you laid low and our future tossed asunder that they may persist in reaping the unjust reward of their selfish ways. There are wolves in sheep clothing and even jackals in wolf’s clothing. I have seen them but not as residents in some strange zoo. They populate the halls of this diminished government and the party from which this government was born. “We have come to the field of fateful choice. We have been brought to test the scales of weighty decision. Shall we lift this nation upward so that from its higher vantage point we may clearly see the road to our better destiny? Or shall we continue to march the march of fools into the dark of darkness. The current path has but one end. It shall take us into the den of national collapse. We have gone far enough down this wicked avenue to be aware of what its continuance portends. “We must awaken of our own accord, my dear people, before the bell of doom rings upon us. If we wait until that moment, we would have waited too long. Our future, our fate, our destiny would have been cast into the snare of utter misfortune. This is not the song of greatness. It is the poetics of ruin. “For me, political ambition will never triumph over patriotic conviction. This delicate moment affords no space for emotion to intrude to blind us from what is best. The APC is the best and only vehicle to enact the progressive and broad change this nation cries for. I eagerly lend myself to this fine cause without me having to be on the ticket. “This is a time for cohesion and an overriding sense of mission. We must defeat the foe before us and resist all temptations intended to entice us to fight among ourselves. ”I sincerely commit myself to the rescue agenda of General Buhari and Professor Osibajo. “I declare to you, I will work and dedicate myself so that our ticket succeeds and wins the 2015 election — not for his good, not for my good, not even for the party’s good but for the good of the nation we inhabit.” “Some may call what I have done a sacrifice. I call it otherwise. It is my patriotic contribution and duty. I do so with a happy and uplifted heart and clear conscience because I have committed myself to seeking the best for this nation before seeking what is good for myself. This is the creed of statesmanship I chose to follow. May this be the creed of our party as General Buhari leads us to historic victory in the 2015 elections. “May the light of a bright future always shine on you and on our beloved nation, the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The Headies 2014: Davido crowns year with Artiste of the Year award

After a blazing hot 2014, Davido crowns it with his win at The Headies: Davido has had a great 2014 by all standards. After dropping the mega bomb known as 'Aiye' he has gone on to dominate a majority of the music award ceremonies this year. Just when it began to look like he was losing team, the young pop act has hit us with two big wins as the year winds to an end. Last night at The Headies, the brash pop hit maker won two big categories - Song of the Year, and Artiste of the Year. The award Artiste of the Year is a reflection of Davido's grind and hustle within the year in review. No top act worked harder than him, and arguably no artiste in the country had his hands in more hits than him. The amazing feat is that he didn't release an album within the year review. He was just everywhere, and was so hard to ignore. Whether you like him or not, you would mostly agree that Davido deserves to win the Artiste of the Year at The Headies. He defined 2014 with his releases, and out muscled everyone. Davido is hard proof that hard work is greater than talent.

The resident quickly raised an alarm and the police were informed and they quickly removed the corpse, and took it to the Federal Medical Centre Gusau for autopsy. The postmortem examination of the corpses showed that there were deep cuts and injuries all over it. This discovery led the police to suspect foul play, and listed it as a case of SUD, sudden unnatural death. It was a report of a missing person filed by the family which resulted in the police directing them to the mortuary where the shocking find was dicovered. When the police searched the car, they found blood-stained pillow cases and bed-sheets in the boot of the car. They took the items away as exhibits while attention shifted to what must have happened to the two young daughters, who were also living with their mother. The police promptly suspected that the assailants must have killed them too and probably dumped their bodies where the body of their mother was discovered. A search in the dam produced the corpses of the little girls with one having cuts all over the body while the other one had had her throat slit with a knife. Through diligent detective work, the police tracked down Kamalu who had fled Zamfara to Kaduna State where he had driven the mother’s car. Some valuable items and cash belonging to the deceased were also recovered from him. During interrogation, Kamalu owned up to the crime, and said that he masterminded the brutal and gruesome murder of his biological mother and two sisters so as to take over her properties. He also revealed the names of four of his accomplices. Two of them were instantly arrested by the police, but two escaped and have remained at large. Happily Ever After: 4 ways wives can build a successful marriage

Here are 4 useful tips for women to make their marriages successful and fruitful: Some couples have bad marriages while others have it really good. But what makes one better than the other? What are the secrets of those who are blissfully happy in their marriage? According to MadamFelicia, here are 4 simple secrets of a successful marriage that every wife should take note of: There needs to be re-communication about expectations: This is the first thing that couples should do before they get married. Once the knot has been tied, expectations should be re-communicated. If you would like him to be extra affectionate, make him aware of your needs. If you expect an open and honest communication about everything, tell him. You can only get what you expect out of the marriage if the other person knows what that is. If not, you could end up in a very frustrating situation with neither of you getting what you want. Give him the love and respect that he deserves: Men love it when their wives thank them for doing something, even something as small as washing the dishes. Give him a compliment every now and then about his dressing or about how great of a job he did painting the living room. Little things like that mean a lot to a man and it will show him that you love and appreciate him. Focus on the great things about your relationship and about your partner: Don't focus on the little things that bug you. Instead, think about all of the things that you love about him, the little things that he does for you, and how he makes you feel. It will keep the feelings alive. This will cause your husband to cherish and love you more, thus causing you both to live happily ever after. Set aside just a few minutes a day to reconnect: Date night is a great way to reconnect, but if you spend at least ten minutes daily, and use those minutes to talk about anything that you want to, you will learn new things about your partner and be able to connect with them. It may only be a few minutes per day but they will be the most important minutes out of those 24 hours. Every relationship requires commitment and hard work. But it's absolutely worth it! So, never stop courting your spouse and you'll be among the lucky couples who actually live "happily ever after".

Ladies Only: 5 types of guys who are NOT husband material

Men, see how women behave, and interpret the behaviour to mean what they want to believe, regardless of what the woman says: In general, women tend to rely on words, whereas men rely on actions. So, when men speak sweetly to women, women believe them, even if they don't behave accordingly. Men, on the other hand, see how women behave, and interpret the behaviour to mean what they want to believe, regardless of what the woman says. So, if you say you don't love him, but continue to have sex with him, all your words are in vain; he interprets your actions and draws his own conclusions. This discrepancy between words and behaviour is especially problematic in marriage-bound relationships. So, watch out if your man is one of these five types: 1. The "help me until I'm ready" guy: The "need help" type is totally entrenched in his own insecurities. He only talks about his own problems —never yours — but he wants a lady by his side because it makes him feel worthy. So, he keeps her there by asking her to help him "until he's ready." But, guess what: He'll never be ready, and so, he is not husband material. 2. The "dare to discuss marriage" guy: Since he knows women believe in words not actions, he dares talk about marriage and future plans with you, knowing it's what you want to hear. But that's all he'll do; no further action is ever taken. There is never a time frame for actions; actions are even never discussed, and if they come up, the conversation suddenly goes in different directions. 3. The "be my guest and discuss marriage" guy: This guy lets you do all the talking about marriage you like. He knows you dream about it; he listen to you discuss it in great detail — where your home will be, what kind of furniture you'll buy, what kind of wedding you want. And when you ask him about dreams, he says, "Whatever you want, honey." Always look at his actions. If there aren't any, if he's all talk, he's not husband material. 4. The "bear with me" guy: He finds nice, logical excuses that seem acceptable. You know, he can't take action now because he's busy with his career, or his weight loss, ior his parents' needs. You name it, and the statement is "Bear with me." 5. The "let's have fun first" guy: He sticks around for the thrill of the game. When the fun is out, he's onto a new adventure and a new thrill. He's not here for future plans or kids or family or even settling down and confiding in one woman. He wants and talks about fun and about sex. Whenever you talk marriage, the face changes, the fun ends, and the statement he repeats is, "You are spoiling the moment," hoping you'll eventually drop the subject. If you don't, soon he'll be out and about for another thrill.

Rape Scandal: Stephanie Okereke’s brother exonerates self

Daniel Okereke, the brother of actress Stephanie Okereke has decided to speak out over the alleged rape scandal that engulfed him few weeks ago: Daniel Okereke, the elder brother of Nollywood star actress, Stephanie Okereke-Linus, who found himself enmeshed in a rape scandal few weeks ago when a University of Lagos undergraduate whose name was given as Arinola, accused him of raping her, has decided to speak out for the first time. Okereke's decision to speak out after he was released on bail by the police, according to him, is to clear the air and let the world know that he did not rape the 22-year-old girl in question but rather, she wanted to blackmail him because he pulled out of a relationship with her. 37-year-old Daniel Okereke who at one time tried his hands on gospel music, is related to former Director-General of the Nigeria Security Exchange Commission, Ndi Okereke-Onyuike, took a swipe at the inference of his aunt and said that the lady also attempted to blackmail him because of his rich background. He released his side of the story via a press statement where he said the girl was only heartbroken and decided to tarnish his image by saying he raped her. Read his statement here: "It took me a while to react to these baseless allegations about my good self because I had to investigate to know if it was truly me they were referring to or someone was impersonating me. I wouldn’t have responded but for the numerous innocent readers who may have been misled by this untrue publications which was never verified before going public. I thought that balanced reportage had to do with getting both sides of the story. What happened between me and my estranged friend was a case of a woman who claimed she was heartbroken because she discovered I am in a very serious relationship. She flared up when she realized and started demanding that I must settle her since I was not taking her seriously not to talk of marrying her. She demanded for two million naira (N2m) and a Toyota Yaris car as settlement else she would scandalize my name and that I know I wouldn’t want that since according to her, I come from a popular and wealthy background. I took it as one of those empty threats until I now read about this complete sham about my good self. How can someone say you were beaten up by seven (7) guards before carnal knowledge of you prevailed? Someone who claimed she was sick? She must be a female wrestler in the WWE (The World Wrestling Entertainment) for such measures to be required before a strong tall guy like me will need to force her to have carnal knowledge of her. Someone who claimed she was raped could also muscle out strength to destroy my properties in front of the so alleged seven guards? If I were a nobody would she be priding in saying I allegedly raped her? I know that the thought of possessing me is your dream but you didn’t need to go this shameless way. Those that may have advised you to do this (if any) gave you the worst advice ever because you can’t have me through cheap blackmail. Let me make it crystal clear that there was never a case of rape nor assault. I have decided not to reveal more shocking details on this sad episode because her family initiated peace moves towards mine and I strongly believe in the biblical saying “to err is human but to forgive is divine”. In a country where people can use some sections of the media to publish unverified stories of even the highest offices in the land, then who am I to bother if such crude treatment is meted out to a rising star like me. Must we continue to destroy our very best because we have a very few media platforms that are willing tools to be used. This is sad and unkind. Why will they want to bring in a respected elder stateswoman Prof. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, OON, into an issue where the alleged accused is an adult who should take full responsibility of his actions and in-actions? A woman who worked tirelessly day and night to develop the Nigerian Capital Market and by extension the Nigerian economy which in turn put food on the tables of millions of Nigerians and beyond. During her tenure as the DG of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the Capital Market was bountiful and prospered as never before. She is an institution in this country and should please not be dragged into trivial issues like this. She should be respected as such. Thank you all for doing so." Do you believe Daniel Okereke?

Under The Influence: 'Igbo' smoker butchers widow and her two children

A man under the influence of marijuana almost sent a widow and her two children to their early graves: A widow, Mrs Helen Okoro, and a mother of two, has had a first hand taste of what a man under the influence of drugs can do as she and her two children, a 15-year-old boy named Godwin and Blessing, a 19-year-old SSS 2 student of Ojoku Senior High School, Tolu, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, were almost butchered to death by an 'Igbo' (Indian Hemp) smoking neighbour who not only stabbed her son but descended on her and her daughter. The man who is a notorious thug in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State, known as Babalawo, according to the Leadership Newspaper, had got into a quarell with the woman's son and stabbed him in the fight that ensued and when Okoro tried to intervene and told him to kill her instead of her son, Babalawo had no hesitation in carrying out her wishes. He was said to have dashed into his room and came out brandishing a broken bottle with which he stabbed her severally on the chest, breast and hand. Not done, he went after the woman's daughter and also dealt her some stab wounds. Narrating her ordeal at the Femi Hospital, Tolu, Apapa, where she is receiving treatment with Blessing, Okoro said she thought the man only wanted to frighten or intimidate her so that she would run away to safety but Babalawo had had other plans as he made good his threats. "We live at Adidas street, Tolu, at the shores of Tolu-Tin Can lagoon. Last year, Babalawo had a problem with my son, Godwin, who is just 15-years-old. One day, Godwin was carrying sand for somebody and Babalawo saw him, picked up a bottle and attempted to break my son’s head with it but he was able to escape and ran away from him. When I heard about the incident, I confronted him but instead of making peace, he threatened to kill me and my children. So since then, we have avoided him. What led to the problem on November 14th, 2014, was that I found a pair of slippers in the dustbin and wanted to use it to make a fire. Babalawo saw the slippers with Godwin and challenged him. My son told him they belonged to his mother because I brought it from the dustbin. The wicked and shameless man broke a bottle and gave my son a hot pursuit. When he apprehended him, he stabbed him in the head. People were begging the man to leave the little boy alone but to no avail. When I returned home, I was faced with that situation. When I inquired why he should stab my son, he threatened to kill me. He wore the necklace I gave my son, so I removed it from his neck after he struggled with me to retain it. To my greatest surprise, he went into his room and picked up a bottle and after smashing it, stabbed me close to my breast. I screamed that the man had killed me and as he wanted to stab me in the face, I blocked the bottle with my hand. I screamed for help but nobody was there to come to my rescue. The man also wanted to stab me in the face, but I quickly used my hand to block it, that was why the broken bottle cut me in the hand. There was blood all over my body. I thought I was going to die. I could not bear the pains so I cried like a baby. I was screaming and rolling in the pool of my blood until somebody called my daughter, Blessing, who rushed back home. On seeing me, she cried, thinking that the man had killed me. The man is a known Indian hemp seller and smoker in the area. He knew I had nobody to run to. He knew I’m from a very poor family. He believed he would kill me and members of my family and nothing will happen. From what has happened so far, if this man kills me and members of my family the police will not do anything." Mrs Okoro also says the police are not helping her get justice as they seem to take sides with Babalawo. "Policemen at Tolu police station have taken sides with him. They were protecting the man and he kept boasting that the policemen there were on his payroll. He might be right because the Investigative Police Officer (IPO), who is handling the case, is doing the wrong thing. He refused to make an arrest and the suspect is walking free. The IPO did not include his name in the statement form. Also, instead of rushing me and my daughter to the general hospital, they abandoned us at Femi Hospital, Bale Street, Tolu, Olodi-Apapa. The medical director of the hospital (Dr Olufemi Ekanado) told my daughter and I to pay N200, 000 before they could discharge us. My daughter’s bill is N80,000 while mine is N120, 000. I’m a widow and a petty trader. I hawk sachet water, so how can I raise such amount of money? All the money we have at home is about N20, 000 both my money and that of my daughter. My daughter persuaded the doctor to allow her go home and bring the little cash but he refused, saying we must pay all the money. We have been held captive here since November 14, this year when the incident occurred. The man who inflicted the injury in us did not even come to say sorry. He never cared whether we survive or die. But God will pay him back."

Joey’s Chronicles Of A Lagos Ajebutter: "Lagos hates Christmas…and Jesus Christ"

I am an Ajebutter. Not by birth, or by formings, or by swag – I am simply an unapologetic ajebutter by default. I didn’t choose to be born one. God, without seeking my opinion (because He’s God, I guess), gave me the genes of an Ajebutter and a funny BriMericana accent . By luck or some twisted work of fate, fortune, karma (I might have killed ten defenseless puppies in my past life) or destiny, I have found myself in Lagos, crazy Lasgidi, and this is my story…: “Silent Night, Holy Night, all is bright, all is nice…” I kept singing yesterday morning as I walked the street, happy to be in existence in this Yuletide, and content to allow my horrible voice serenade the morning and cast a warm texture over those who walk past me. I was headed to the gate of my residential estate to board a commercial vehicle to take my happy soul to work. I was happy, joyful, smiling, contented, and tush. Very Tush. But Lagos is not tush. It hates Christmas. Everyone who walked past me, had this scary angry look on their face; one of pure disgust and anger. I ignored them all, thinking it was my voice, and not the content of my song that keeps ruining their moments. I was blessed with the most horrible of singing voices. If I sing, babies cry, people tremble in discomfort, and all my debtors pay. It is bad, torturous and effective in chasing away girlfriends. I once had one stubborn Yoruba chick who refused to allow me break her heart. I did everything in my power to send her away, but man, she was persistent. All it took to accomplish the mission was to sing at the top of my voice all night, and the next day, she complained of nightmares and demons chasing her in her sleep. Her name was Titilope, and that was the last time I ever saw her. I had become the antichrist. Chronicles Of A Lagos Ajebutter (Christmas Carol Voicenote).mp3 You can listen to my horrible singing by clicking the audio file, and downloading Back to the matter. I kept up my singing while I joined a bus to work. It was pretty full, and I was delighted to finally have an audience to share my joy with. This time switching to White Christmas.  “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know". I sang slowly, my voice rang around their heads like a cry of doom. I was in the zone, happy as Santa himself. ‘Hohoho, Merry Christmas.’ “Oga wetin you dey sing sef? Abeg you dey disturb me jor.” Finally a worthy challenger. Someone had taken offence at my disturbance and happiness, and was about to ruin my moment. I have spent all my life listening to preachers and marketers sell the bible to me during bus rides, and I have respected my space. Now this man wants to ruin my moment. No, I refuse to be intimidated. I took a deep a deep breath, cleared my throat, and began my preaching. “Brothers and sisters, this is a Christmas, and it is a holy time to show love, peace and kindness…” I kept my little Christmas sermon up all through the ride from Ajah to Lekki. The people were angry and frustrated, and did all they could to stop me. I heard grumblings, murmurs, sighs, hisses, and curses. But I was relentless. We got to Lekki, and right at the bus stop, I ran out of steam, and with a flourish, ended my little discussion with a warm satisfied smile, “Merry Christmas to everyone. May joy and laughter find you.” I whispered and spread out my arms in happiness. I waited for an “Amen”, but none came. I simply shrugged and alighted. It is not my fault that they all hate a good Christmas preaching. In fact, they hate the concept of Christmas and celebration. As I walked to my office, one man in worn out clothes walked to me, and poured out his heart in one sentence. “Bros, no try this thing wey you just do again. I don warm you”. I didn’t respond. Nothing can take away my joy at Christmas, not that man, not a bus full of people who hate Jesus Christ and his birth season. Never! As I walked to my office, only a slight song kept ringing in my head. “Silver bells, silver bells, it’s Christmas time, in the Lagos…” Peace and good hustle my people. See you next week.

Insanity: 32-year-old man rapes physically challenged woman

For raping a mentally challenged woman, a 32-year-old man would spend his Christmas behind bars: 32-year-old Saheed Egbeleye, will be ruing his insatiable sexual lust that led him to raping a physically challenged woman in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, as he has been remanded in prison custody by a Chief Magistrates’ Court where he will be a resident till the 13th of February, 2015, when his case would be heard. According to reports, Egbeleye lured the 21-year-old woman who is suffering from a rare disease called mongoloid - a term used for a mentally retarded person with a combination of Down Syndrome Disease - into his room and raped her before he was caught in the act. The police prosecutor handling the case, Inspector Sunday Eigbejiale, told the court that the accused committed the offence on 29th November, 2015, at Ilawo Compound , Adedotun in Abeokuta. Inspector Eigbejiale told the court that the offence contravened Sections 357 and 358 of the Criminal Laws of Ogun, 2006, and that the suspect should not be granted bail. Magistrate Anthony Araba therefore ordered that the accused be remanded in the Ibara Prison, in the state capital while awaiting Director of Public Prosecution’s advice.

Landlady kills tenant over N200, boasts nothing anyone can arrest her

A Lagos landlady who thinks she is above the laws of the land believes she can kill her tenant and get away with it: A Lagos landlady, Mrs Idowu Adenekan, who ordered some social miscreants, popularly called area boys, to beat her tenant, 27-year old Michael Abodunrin, to death because he could not pay her the sum of N200 PHCN bill, has boasted that the deceased died for nothing because she is untouchable and no one can do anything to her. The incident which is said to have happened on Saturday, 6th December, 2014, around 9pm at 12b, Adeyiga Street, L&K bus stop, Oworoshoki, Lagos State, has sent the area into a frenzy as the woman is said to be walking around freely after she was released on bail the same day by the police after her initial arrest. The thugs led by one Omo Jesu, are also roaming the streets going about their businesses, telling anyone that cares to listen that as far as they are concerned, the case has been buried because they have the backing or Adenekan.. According to co-tenants of the late Abodunrin, their landlady has a knack for calling her thugs to threaten or beat any erring tenant and nobody has been able to curb her excesses, including the police who seem to be in cahoots with her because of her connections. The incident that sent the young man to his early grave has been cited as an extremity on her part and with the police not willing to do anything, means they may have been compromised.

Wasn't Drake the same dude begging for love from Nicki Minaj and Rihanna and even Diana Ross' daughter?

Terrible: House help kidnaps children, 1 week after getting job

2-year-old Rafael and 15-month old Michael, children of the Esharegaran’s, were apparently kidnapped by their house help, Juliet on Sunday, December 7, 2014, exactly one week after she was hired: The once peaceful home of Lagos residents Mr and Mrs Elvis Esharegaran has been thrown into disarray as their newly hired house help has absconded with their two children. 2-year-old Rafael and 15-month old Michael, children of the Esharegaran’s, were apparently kidnapped by their house help, Juliet on Sunday, December 7, 2014, exactly one week after she was hired. Juliet, who is believed to be in her late 20s, is said to have ‘left home’ with the kids, after their bedridden grandmother and her nurse went to sleep. The Esharegaran’s were shocked to find their kids missing from home when they returned at about 10pm. ‘They were nowhere to be found’, a family member tells Pulse. Juliet, supposedly an indigene of Osun State, was hired with the aid of an agency which arranges househelps for families in Lagos. It is uncertain if the boys’ kidnappers will demand a ransom as no contact has been made with the parents. Mr Elvis Esharegaran is a businessman who is involved in Information Technology while his wife works with a new generation bank. A family member who chose to remain anonymous said that the Esharegarans had come along with Juliet for a visit to their home on Sunday. “She came to our house with the family. She told us her name and said she was from Osun State. I’m not sure if that’s true anymore because I don’t know many people from Osun who bear English names.” "She was very friendly and nice and she got along well with the boys. She didn’t look like she could hurt anyone,” the family member added. Juliet’s phone has been switched off since she disappeared with Michael and Rafael and even the agency that arranged her employment is unable to reach her. The family has reported their children’s disappearance to the police and and investigations into the incident are currently ongoing. Any valid information should be sent to Darlington on 08037071370 or the nearest police station.

Devil In The Family: Wife murders husband over N10 Tom-Tom sweet

For refusing to give his wife a mere N10 to buy sweet for their daughter, a husband has lost his life in the hands of his wife: Some news makes the skin shrivel in astonishment, news like a 22-year-old housewife, Aminat Aiyemobola, allegedly stabbing to death, her husband, Babatunde Aiyemobola, because he refused to give her the sum of N10 to buy sweet for their child. According to New Telegraph, the mother of two, had asked her 40-year-old husband give her the money to buy the popular Tom-Tom sweet but his refusal led to a disagreement which led to her picking up a kitchen knife and fatally stabbing her husband to death. She is now being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID), Homicides section, Panti, Yaba, Lagos. The police reports that the incident which occurred at 4, Magbon Alade Street, Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos, and was reported to the police by the elder brother of the deceased, happened after Aminat was said to have asked her husband for N10 so that she could buy Tom-Tom sweet for their daughter but his refusal turned out to be lethal. The deceased husband allegedly refused giving her the money and instead chided her for always buying sweet for their kid, educating her that sweets are not healthy for kids. This apparently angered Aminat and she allegedly said some unprintable things to her husband and the couple started quarrelling over the issue. The argument was said to have degenerated into name calling and before anyone knew what was happening, the angry woman stormed into the kitchen and came out with a knife with which stabbed her husband three times in the chest and he died on the spot. While undergoing interrogation, Aminat told homicide detectives that she did not know what came over her, which prompted her to pick the knife. "I loved my husband. He was a very caring man to me and my children. Oga, I don’t know what came over me. We loved each other. We have been living happily as husband and wife. In fact, I don’t know whether I’m under a spell. God please forgive me." The police said she would soon be arraigned in court.

Bad Blood!: Son stabs father to death for correcting him

A son from hell has allegedly stabbed his father to death for daring to correct him: A 25-year-old former student who was dismissed from the University of Lagos, Oluropo Tifase, has allegedly stabbed his father, Moses Tifase, to death because the father tried to talk to him about living a purposeful life instead of wasting away on irrelevant things. Olurope, according to close family sources, has been a source of heartache for his family and all efforts to lead him in the right path proved abortive, culminating in him killing his father. The incident which occurred at Mile 2 Estate on the outskirts of the Lagos metropolis last weekend, has thrown into serious confusion while the suspect is being held at the Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos. Oluropo allegedly used a scissors to stab his father to death. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident, also adding that aside the suspect, the police also had his mother and another of his siblings, Olufunmbi, in detention. The police spokesperson said that the suspect had been having a running battle with his late father, over his unruly behaviour which the deceased was not happy about. "The suspect and his late father had a sour relationship, due to his unruly behaviour. Merciful Criminal: Robbery suspect says he pays the police more than their salaries

Can an armed robber have mercy on his victims?: It was a funny revelation at the premises of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS), Lagos, when a suspected armed robber revealed that what he pays to police officers and other security agents to provide cover for him far outweighs the meager salary the policemen get every month. The suspect, Tunde Aribisala, who is also known as Two Minutes, also said he made sure his gang members took an oath never to kill policemen because the officers too have families and dependents. While being paraded by the police, Two Minutes claims that he is a very kind and humble criminal who takes pity on the police officers and soldiers and made sure he gives them money after every successful operation because their 'take home pay is poor'. Hear Two Minutes: "I’m very quiet and humble, but very dangerous during robbery operations. I have never killed a policeman or a soldier. I used to give them money any day I succeeded in operation because their take home pay is poor." Aribisala who said he is married with three children, - two boys and a girl – say they attend one of the best private schools in Ikoyi, claiming that his children were very brilliant. Aribisala who also said he is a very successful business man, said he has adequately provided for his children’s education, as well as set aside enough money that would take care of his wife. "My beautiful wife does not know that I am a robber. She thinks I am a car dealer. I have car stands in Lagos, Ibadan, Kwara, and Lekki. But nobody know that I snatched cars and also robbed innocent Nigerians. We could have killed a lot of policemen, especially during robbery operations. But we took oath in our gang never to kill any policeman. We took that oath because we agreed in our gang that they are human beings like us and also have dependents like us. The person leading the gang had been killed in one of our operations. We needed someone to replace him. This was the argument we were having when the police stormed our hideout. His death made us to start discussing the rationale in not killing policemen when they were killing our members and were ready to kill us. We were also arguing on how to share the N5 million we snatched on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when we were arrested."

Bill Cosby: Hugh Hefner on comedian's 'Playboy' sex assault charges "truly saddening"

"The mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening..." Hef stated: Playboy boss Hugh Hefner has released a statement about Bill Cosby's latest alleged sexual assault victim, who claimed she was molested by the comedian in the Playboy Mansion back in 1974 at age 15. In response to the accusation, Hefner said: "Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening. I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved.” The Los Angeles police opened an investigation after a woman, Judy Huth filed the first lawsuit against Bill Cosby for sexual battery. She reportedly met with detectives for 90 minutes, said officer Jane Kim. According to the woman's civil suit, Cosby forced her to perform a sex act on him in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion around 1974 when she was underage. Her legal rep, Gloria Allred told reporters at a recent press conference in L.A that Huth met with two special victim unit detectives on Friday, three days after her lawsuit was filed, "We are going to provide any and all evidence that she has," Allred said. Meanwhile, Cosby's attorney, Martin Singer, accused Huth and another lawyer of extortion and said she attempted to sell her story to a tabloid a decade earlier. Singer's filing states the other attorney, Marc Strecker, first demanded $100,000 for Huth to remain silent, then raised the demand to $250,000 as more women came forward accusing Cosby of sexual misconduct. Police did not give any additional details about the investigation but Police Chief Charlie Beck on Thursday urged potential victims of sex abuse by Cosby to speak with detectives, regardless of whether their claims were outside the statute of limitations. Cosby has been accused by more than 15 women in recent weeks of sexual misconduct, ranging from groping to drugging and raping. He has never been charged with a crime, and his attorneys have denied many of the allegations. However, the comedian's Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalised later this week after someone wrote "Rapist" on it three times. In a statement made by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which manages the stars embedded in several sidewalks, "When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California state landmark," Cosby received his star in 1977. It's placed near the busy intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and North Highland Avenue.

Protests in New York: Jury clears officer who choked Eric Garner to death

43-year-old Eric Garner was put in a chokehold, which eventually led to his death, by Officer Daniel Pantaleo in July after he was caught illegally selling cigarettes: Protesters have invaded the streets of New York after a grand jury decided not to charge a white police officer who choked an unarmed black man to death. 43-year-old Eric Garner was put in a chokehold, which eventually led to his death, by Officer Daniel Pantaleo in July after he was caught illegally selling cigarettes. His death was ruled a homicide by the city’s medical examiner but the grand jury ruled on Wednesday, December 3 that Pantaleo did not intend to cause Garner’s death with his actions. The altercation between Garner, a father of three, and officers of the New York Police Department was caught on video and the deceased was heard clearly stating several times “I can’t breathe”. Protests began in the city after the decision on Wednesday and continued into early Thursday and protesters expressed their anger with chants of Garner’s last words “I can’t breathe.” Garner’s wife, Esaw expressed her disbelief at the verdict saying: “Oh my God, are you serious? I’m very disappointed. You can see in the video that he (the cop) was dead wrong!” Officer Pantaleo issued a statement after he was cleared expressing his condolences to Garner’s family and saying that he feels very sorry for the incident. “I hope that they will accept my personal condolences for their loss,” he said. However, Esaw Garner said in response that it’s too late for condolences: “The time for remorse was when my husband was yelling to breathe, that would have been the time for him to show some remorse or some type of care for another human being’s life.” “No, I don’t accept his apology. I could care less about his condolences. My husband is 6 feet under. (The cop) is still working. He’s still collecting a paycheck and I’m looking for a way to feed my kids,” Mrs Garner said. President Barack Obama has also spoken out on the decision of the grand jury saying that it speaks to “the concern on the part of too many minority communities that law enforcement is not working with them and dealing with them in a fair way.” The latest grand jury decision comes after a similar panel refused to indict Officer Darren Wilson for the August 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri leading to a wave of unrest all around the country.
