Nigeria Elections 2015: Presidency begins investigation on leaked Jonathan/Buhari phone call

The matter is being probed to determine where the leak came from – whether from the seat of power or from General Buhari’s camp-: The Presidency has begun investigations to uncover the person or persons behind the leak of the acclaimed telephone conversation between Nigeria’s incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan and President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari. Jonathan had called Buhari to congratulate him on his victory in the Presidential election last week, but surprisingly, the audio recording leaked online via a Twitter handle @EveryNigerian. According to a Punch Villa source, the leak was an embarrassment to the Presidency. The matter is however being probed to determine where the leak came from – whether from the seat of power or from General Buhari’s camp. “Definitely, unauthorised release of a raw recording of the President’s telephone conversation, if from our (Presidency’s) end is a security breach that cannot go without being investigated,” the source said.
