Former Vice President, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari and his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have done nothing since 2015 when they came to power except noise making.
Atiku made this declaration when he visited members and delegates of Oyo State ahead of the forthcoming presidential primary election of the party.
The former Vice President, who was welcomed to the Oke-Ado PDP state secretariat by one of the gubernatorial aspirants of the party, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Senator Ayo Adeseun, former Deputy governor, Alhaji Azeem Gbolarumi and Dr. Saka Balogun, urged members of the party to put their differences aside but forge ahead for the unity of the party.
DAILY POST reports that other members of the state’s PDP that welcomed Atiku who was accompanied by Director General of his campaign team, Otunba Gbega Daniel, included Chief Robert Koleoso, Senator Hosea Ayoola, Elder Wole Oyelese, Chief Jacob Adetoro and Hon. Muraina Ajibola.
Atiku while wooing Oyo delegates ahead of the presidential primary, urged members of the PDP to work for the interest of the party at all times for them to reclaim the state and the Federal government.
He added that he was surprised to see that Buhari and his All Progressives Congress (APC), that promised change have changed Nigeria to worse.
He said, “Buhari and the APC have done nothing except noise making. Buhari is just making noise. The APC is making noise.
“They promised change but they have failed. They promised change in 2015 but they have changed the country for the worse.
Atiku, while speaking further, described Oyo State as the political headquarters of the South West region, which should not be toyed with.
He said, “The people of Oyo state, Oyo is the political headquarters of South West.
“So, let us work together. Let us work for the unity of the party, by the grace of God, we will have PDP in government in 2019 in Oyo state and Nigeria. You will have PDP as your governor in 2019”.
