In Osun: Cleric calls for fervent prayer against insurgency

A Senior Pastor at the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Itura, Oshogbo, Osun, Pastor Israel Adubi, has called for fervent prayer to end insurgency in the country. Adubi made the call in Osogbo on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on the renewed onslaught by the Boko Haram in the North. He also called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliations and political leanings, to come together and pray for divine intervention. The cleric explained that the trend in insurgency in which young females were used as suicide bombers was dangerous and worrisome. "The renewed onslaught by the Boko Haram insurgents really calls for urgent divine intervention. This is the time all faiths and political leanings have to come together and seek the face of God in this critical moment," he said. Adubi further appealed to government at all levels to mobilise people for what he called a spiritual panacea. He, however, urged politicians to play the game of politics according to the rules, saying they must refrain from comments that would heat up the polity.
